Alain Blaise Batongue, new Chief Executive Officer of MSMI Africa
(LVDE) — Since January 5, 2026, MSMI Africa S.A., a major player in industrial maintenance in Cameroon, has been led by Alain Blaise Batongue. A former executive at Orange Cameroon and a well-known figure in business and media circles, he takes on the mission of further structuring the company and expanding its reach at both national and sub-regional levels.
In the workshops of the Douala-Bassa industrial zone, the arrival of a new leader has not gone unnoticed. On January 5, 2026, Alain Blaise Batongue officially took the helm of MSMI Africa S.A., a company specializing in industrial maintenance and engineering. For many employees, this appointment symbolizes a strategic turning point for a company that is already well established but now poised to scale up.
The new CEO’s background has drawn considerable attention. After completing his contract as Director of Institutional and Regulatory Affairs at Orange Cameroon, he made a shift toward the industrial sector. Trained as a journalist, former Publishing Director of the daily newspaper Mutations, and former Executive Secretary of GICAM, he has built a reputation as a keen expert on economic and institutional issues. His experience across various spheres—from the media to consulting and large corporations—has shaped a versatile profile, capable of engaging with both public decision-makers and private-sector stakeholders.
Founded in 2003, MSMI Africa has supported Cameroon’s industrialization process for over twenty years. The company operates in mechanical manufacturing, metal fabrication, maintenance of complex equipment, and engineering services. Its activities span sensitive and strategic sectors such as oil, mining, construction and public works, timber, agro-industry, maritime, healthcare, and aeronautics. This diverse client base has enabled MSMI to position itself as an indispensable technical partner within the national industrial ecosystem.
The appointment of Alain Blaise Batongue reflects a clear intention to open a new chapter. According to several internal sources, the goal is to strengthen governance, modernize the organization, further professionalize processes, and accelerate growth. He will work closely with the company’s founder, Augustine Audrey Ngo Yetna Chicot—now Chair of the Board of Directors—while relying on a management team that blends experience with young talent trained in leading institutions.
Expectations are high. At a time when industrialization is at the heart of public policy and competition is intensifying, MSMI Africa aims to consolidate its position in Cameroon, expand its influence across the CEMAC region, and explore new opportunities beyond. For employees and partners alike, this appointment marks a period of renewed hope and ambition, driven by the belief that refreshed leadership can give new momentum to a company already regarded as strategic.
