(LVDE) — KPMG Central Africa is bolstering its governance and strategic presence in the CEMAC region with the appointment of Abdoulaye Mouchili as Managing Partner. This market-anticipated decision reflects the firm’s commitment to enhancing transparency, performance, and compliance for businesses while supporting the region’s ongoing economic and financial reforms.
Based in Douala, Abdoulaye Mouchili assumes leadership of KPMG Central Africa at a pivotal moment for the CEMAC zone, where strengthening governance practices, adhering to international standards, and driving digital transformation in organizations are top priorities. With over twenty years of experience in audit, advisory, and risk management, Mr. Mouchili has built a reputation within some of the world’s leading professional services firms. Prior to this appointment, he served as Country Managing Partner for EY in Cameroon and Chad, after six years as a Partner, and led high-value regional assignments covering financial institutions, industrial corporations, and public entities across the CEMAC region.
His career has been marked by strategic responsibilities, notably as Risk Management Leader for nine French-speaking Sub-Saharan African countries within the EY FSSA cluster. This expertise, focused on governance, internal controls, risk management, and financial system quality, is particularly sought after amid increasing regulatory pressure and the growing prominence of ESG requirements for economic actors. Before joining EY, he worked with PwC in Central Africa, notably in Brazzaville and Kinshasa, and gained international experience in Canada at the National Bank of Canada and Ernst & Young LLP, providing him with a rare global perspective in the region.
A graduate of HEC Montreal with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, specializing in Accounting, he also holds the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation from the Colorado State Board of Accountancy. This combination of North American training and extensive African experience allows him to bridge international standards with an in-depth understanding of local realities—a key asset in an environment where both companies and public institutions seek credibility and sustainable performance.
At the helm of KPMG Central Africa, Abdoulaye Mouchili will focus on reinforcing the firm’s role as a trusted partner. His mandate is clear: secure governance practices, support digital and organizational transformation, optimize performance, combat fraud, assist with restructurings, and develop local talent capable of operating at the highest international standards. This appointment also underscores KPMG’s strategy of actively contributing to regional economic development alongside businesses, financial institutions, and public authorities.
For the Cameroonian and regional economic ecosystem, this decision sends a strong signal: trust and credibility are now anchored by experienced leaders capable of transforming management practices and supporting sustainable growth. Abdoulaye Mouchili establishes himself as a leading figure in contemporary African leadership, combining strategic vision, operational rigor, and tangible impact on the region’s economic development.
