(LVDE) – The firm purchase agreement for four Embraer E175 aircraft, with an option for eight additional units, was signed on November 17, 2025, between Air Côte d’Ivoire and the Brazilian manufacturer Embraer during the prestigious “Dubai Airshow.”
Air Côte d’Ivoire is pursuing its ambition to become a key player in regional air transport in West Africa. On November 17, 2025, during the renowned “Dubai Airshow,” the airline officially signed a major agreement with Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer. The deal concerns the acquisition of four Embraer E175 jets, a move that will significantly strengthen the company’s fleet and operational capabilities.
Intended to replace the aging Bombardier Q400 turboprops, these new regional jets are designed to provide a superior flight experience. The E175 features a dual-class configuration with 12 business class seats and 64 economy seats, effectively meeting the needs of a diverse clientele while ensuring enhanced comfort. Perfectly suited to the size of the Ivorian market, these aircraft help optimize operational efficiency while offering improved profitability.
The operational advantages of the Embraer E175 are substantial. With a higher cruising speed and a greater range, these jets offer essential flexibility to cover not only the domestic network but also regional routes. This will enable Air Côte d’Ivoire to expand its network of destinations, thereby improving connections between capitals and major cities across West Africa.
Delivery of the first aircraft is scheduled for the first half of 2027, marking an important step in the airline’s broader plan to modernize and strengthen its fleet. Air Côte d’Ivoire, which has recorded steady growth in passenger traffic in recent years, aims to meet rising demand while improving its position in a competitive aviation market.
This new investment reflects Air Côte d’Ivoire’s determination to establish itself as a major pillar of air transport in West Africa, while promoting enhanced regional connectivity. This dynamic strategy also aligns with the Ivorian government’s initiatives to develop infrastructure and promote tourism, thereby stimulating the country’s economic growth.
