In Douala, at its Ndogbati facility, Tractafric Equipment Cameroon celebrated the dedication of its workforce through a formal ceremony marked by the awarding of honorary distinctions. A total of 68 employees received silver, vermeil, and gold labor medals in recognition of their years of service and contribution to the company’s growth. This initiative forms part of a structured approach to talent retention and the promotion of a corporate culture built on performance and excellence.
Held under the patronage of the Minister of Labour and Social Security, Grégoire Owona, the event brought together several administrative authorities, including the Governor of the Littoral Region, Samuel Dieudonné Ivaha Diboua, the Mayor of Douala, Roger Mbassa Ndine, as well as the Senior Divisional Officer for Wouri. This strong institutional presence reflects the importance attached to corporate social practices and their role in strengthening the national economic fabric.
For the management of Tractafric Equipment Cameroon, this recognition goes beyond symbolism. It reflects a managerial policy focused on valuing human resources as a strategic driver of growth. “Celebrating our employees strengthens their commitment and helps sustain collective momentum in a demanding environment,” said Erwan Catto, Managing Director for Cameroon, the Central African Republic, and Equatorial Guinea.
Within the company, the distinctions sparked strong emotions. Some recipients have more than two decades of service, illustrating the social stability that characterizes the organization. This employee loyalty is a key indicator in a context where competitiveness increasingly depends on the quality of human capital. It is also supported by an active training and upskilling policy, enabling the workforce to adapt to technological changes in the sector.
A long-standing player in Cameroon since 1932, Tractafric Equipment is a major partner to the industrial, mining, and public works sectors. A subsidiary of the Optorg Group and exclusive distributor of Caterpillar, the company offers an integrated range of services including equipment sales, maintenance, rental, and spare parts supply. Its network spans the country’s main economic hubs, with operations in Douala, Yaoundé, Garoua, and Kribi.
Operationally, the subsidiary relies on a robust logistics infrastructure, with an inventory of genuine spare parts valued at over CFAF 6 billion and more than 12,000 items in stock. Its service rate stands at around 92%, with optimized supply times to meet the needs of clients in high-demand sectors. The company has also strengthened its industrial footprint with the inauguration, in 2021, of a civil engineering equipment assembly plant at the Port of Kribi, illustrating its contribution to local economic development.
Through this ceremony, Tractafric Equipment Cameroon reinforces its image as a committed and responsible employer. By valuing the experience and loyalty of its teams, the company affirms its ambition to build sustainable growth driven by human expertise and innovation. In a changing economic environment, this positioning stands out as a key factor of differentiation and long-term resilience.
