(lavoixdesentreprises.info) – During the recent 130th General Assembly of the International Association of French-speaking Air Transporters, Abdoulaye Coulibaly, Chairman of the Board of Air Côte d’Ivoire, announced the launch of a new route connecting Abidjan to Paris, with a daily flight starting in 2025.
Ivorian air transport is set to take a significant step forward with Air Côte d’Ivoire’s announcement regarding the opening of a daily route between Abidjan and Paris in 2025. This information was revealed by Abdoulaye Coulibaly during the General Assembly of the International Association of French-speaking Air Transporters (ATAF), held on November 23, 2024, in Abidjan. This project is part of an ambitious expansion plan for the airline, aiming to strengthen its presence in the international market.
The Abidjan-Paris route, which had already been announced earlier this year, is part of a broader strategic plan for Air Côte d’Ivoire. This plan also includes the opening of other routes, notably to Casablanca, which was inaugurated last May. In parallel, the airline plans to expand its network to destinations such as New York, Brussels, Washington, Beirut, and London by 2027. These new routes reflect Air Côte d’Ivoire’s desire to enhance its positioning in the international air market while meeting the growing demand from passengers for direct connections between Africa and other regions of the world.
The announcement made by Abdoulaye Coulibaly comes at a favorable time for Air Côte d’Ivoire, which has recently reported an improvement in its financial situation. The airline has successfully consolidated its cash flow, allowing it to implement an ambitious development program. In this context, Air Côte d’Ivoire plans to increase its fleet to a total of 18 aircraft by 2031. To achieve this goal, the airline is also set to receive two Airbus A330s in March and April 2025, as part of an order placed in October 2022. These new aircraft will be crucial for expanding its network, enabling Air Côte d’Ivoire to reach 35 destinations by 2031.
Choosing Paris as a new daily destination underscores the strategic importance of this route for air transport in West Africa. Paris, as one of the largest European metropolises and an international hub, represents a key entry point for business travelers and tourists. The link between Abidjan and Paris is expected to not only enhance economic and cultural exchanges between the two cities but also open new opportunities for tourism development in Côte d’Ivoire.
In conclusion, the announcement of the daily Abidjan-Paris route by Air Côte d’Ivoire marks a positive turning point for the airline and for Ivorian air transport in general. This project reflects a strong commitment to establishing a lasting presence on the international air scene while responding to the growing expectations of passengers. With an expanding fleet and increasing destinations, Air Côte d’Ivoire appears well-positioned to meet the future challenges of the aviation sector.
