(LVDE) — The Bank of Central African States has reached a new milestone in its institutional modernization with the official rollout of its new logo. The redesigned symbol reflects the central bank’s ambition to combine heritage, innovation, and a forward-looking vision.
The Bank of Central African States (BEAC) is ushering in a new era for its institutional image. The sub-regional monetary authority has announced the official launch of its new visual identity, marked by the adoption of a modernized logo now authorized for use across all its communication platforms. This graphic evolution forms part of a broader transformation strategy aimed at enhancing the clarity, consistency, and impact of the central bank’s image among its partners and the general public.
Without breaking with its heritage, BEAC seeks through this redesign to assert its dynamism and commitment to innovation. The former logo, used for several decades, accompanied the institution through key moments in its history and remains a strong symbolic reference in the collective memory of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC). The new visual identity therefore reflects a spirit of continuity while signaling an adaptation to contemporary standards and expectations.
Dominated by a golden-yellow hue, the new logo features three Derby eland heads depicted up to the neck, combined with the “BEAC” monogram. Designed in an original typeface developed specifically for the institution, the monogram enhances the brand’s distinctiveness and recognition. The emblem is completed by the official name “Bank of Central African States,” displayed in uppercase letters using the Roboto font, lending the overall design both sobriety and readability.
The removal of the circle and vegetal elements from the former emblem symbolizes BEAC’s openness to new perspectives, while the retention of the three Derby eland heads reaffirms the central role of the institution within the sub-regional banking and financial system. This iconographic choice also illustrates the central bank’s mission to act as a driving force and catalyst for economic growth within CEMAC.
The new logo will be rolled out progressively across all institutional media, from official documents to digital platforms. Through this visual transformation, BEAC underscores its determination to modernize its image while strengthening its credibility and authority in a constantly evolving financial environment.
