(LVDE) — Meeting on December 29, 2025, in Ntoun par Bikok, the Board of Directors of the Cameroon Water Utilities Corporation (CAMWATER) unanimously adopted the budget and the Annual Performance Plan for the 2026 financial year. With an envelope exceeding FCFA 84 billion, the state-owned company signals its determination to sustainably improve water production, distribution, and service quality nationwide.
The drive to modernize public water services continues in Cameroon. At the close of its 59th ordinary session held on December 29, 2025, in the conference hall of the Complexe Mundi in Ntoun par Bikok, Mefou-et-Akono Division, CAMWATER’s Board of Directors validated the company’s strategic and financial orientations for 2026. The meeting was chaired by Patrick Kum Bong Akwa, Chairman of the Board, with the General Management led by Dr. Blaise Moussa, Managing Director, assisted by Deputy Managing Director Jocelyne Alice Ngo Njiki née Mine.
Central to the deliberations was the review of the Annual Performance Plan, the company’s operational roadmap for the coming year. Following discussions, the Board approved a balanced budget in terms of resources and expenditures, set at FCFA 84,024,498,221. This allocation reflects CAMWATER’s ambition to meet the growing expectations of the population for reliable access to quality drinking water, in a context marked by rapid urbanization and rising demand.

The budget breakdown highlights clearly defined priorities. More than FCFA 32.9 billion—nearly 40% of the total—will be devoted to operations management, aimed at optimizing water production, conveyance, and distribution. Infrastructure development will receive over FCFA 9.6 billion, earmarked for strengthening and expanding networks. Commercial management and customer relations account for approximately FCFA 14.6 billion, underscoring the goal of improving service delivery to users, while nearly FCFA 26.9 billion is allocated to governance and institutional support.
The Board commended a coherent, performance-oriented budget focused on customer satisfaction and the continuous improvement of water supply services. It also urged General Management to ensure diligent and timely implementation of the projects and activities outlined, in order to achieve the targets set for 2026.
Through this ambitious budget, CAMWATER aims to consolidate its strategic role in the country’s socio-economic development. The year 2026 thus promises to be a decisive milestone in the pursuit of a more reliable, accessible, and responsive public water service for the Cameroonian population.
