(LVDE) — For the second consecutive year, BGFIBank Cameroon brought warmth, hope, and gifts to children in the pediatric wards of Laquintinie Hospital and the Gyneco-Obstetric and Pediatric Hospital in Douala, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to the health and well-being of young patients.
On December 22 and 23, 2025, the corridors of Laquintinie Hospital and the Gyneco-Obstetric and Pediatric Hospital were filled with laughter and color thanks to BGFIBank Cameroon’s initiative. Through two beautifully decorated Christmas trees, the bank offered hospitalized children moments of comfort and joy, combining gifts, sweets, and personalized attention. The event took place in the presence of the Chief Executive Officer, Abakal Mahamat, accompanied by staff, as well as the directors and medical teams of both hospitals.
This initiative continues the social engagement of BGFIBank Cameroon, which regularly supports projects in health, education, and the environment. According to Abakal Mahamat, “Every life deserves support. Bringing a little light and hope to patients, their families, and healthcare staff is a priority that is very close to our hearts.”

For this second edition, nearly two hundred gifts were distributed to the children, ranging from toys to sweets, creating moments of joy and distraction that are essential for their morale. Beyond the gifts, the bank also provided financial support to indigent patients. Each hospital received checks to cover medical expenses in the neonatology and pediatric wards of the Gyneco-Obstetric Hospital, as well as in the neonatology and obstetric pathology departments of Laquintinie Hospital.
The reactions of the beneficiaries highlighted the immediate impact of the initiative. Carine Ameh, mother of two sick children, shared, “I arrived with my children, and not only were their treatments covered, but they also received gifts. Thank you, BGFIBank!” Similarly, Samuel, a young patient at Laquintinie Hospital, exclaimed, “I came here sad, but thanks to the gifts and the care from the doctors, I leave happy, with a wonderful memory from BGFIBank.”
Through these actions, BGFIBank Cameroon reaffirms its commitment to child health and solidarity, showing that investing in the well-being of hospitalized children is a priority. Christmas 2025 will thus remain engraved in the memories of the children, their families, and hospital staff, symbolizing hope and generosity in a context where social support makes all the difference.
