(LVDE) — On 16 December 2025, Cameroon Telecommunications (CAMTEL) officially handed over vehicles to its technical teams as part of its strategy to improve field responsiveness and strengthen service quality, particularly in the deployment and maintenance of the fibre network.
In Yaoundé, the atmosphere was both solemn and dynamic on Tuesday, 16 December 2025, during the vehicle handover ceremony to CAMTEL’s technical teams. The event, chaired by Mrs Judith Yah Sunday Epse Achidi, Chief Executive Officer of the company, marked a significant milestone in the operational optimization policy of the public telecommunications operator.
In her address, Mrs Achidi recalled that this initiative reflects a clear commitment to bringing the company’s services closer to its customers. “Each vehicle represents an additional tool for our teams, enabling them to intervene more quickly in the field, resolve technical issues and ensure quality service, even in the face of challenges encountered on the fibre network,” she said. The initiative aims to reduce response times and strengthen team availability amid the growing demands of subscribers.
The vehicles, specifically assigned to technical departments, will streamline the movements of agents responsible for network installation, maintenance and troubleshooting. They will also make it easier to transport the necessary equipment for interventions at remote or complex sites, thereby contributing to better territorial coverage and increased responsiveness in the event of outages or incidents.
Beyond the logistical aspect, this allocation reflects CAMTEL’s strategic commitment to modernizing its operations and enhancing customer satisfaction. It forms part of a broader approach to digitalization and nationwide fibre optic deployment, which represents a key driver of connectivity and economic development.
The technical teams, visibly enthusiastic, welcomed the initiative, noting that it will facilitate their daily work and improve their efficiency. For the company, it is a concrete way of demonstrating closeness to its customers and strengthening confidence in its services, while continuing to pursue the goal of making the fibre network more efficient and reliable.
Through this initiative, CAMTEL affirms its determination to remain at the forefront of service quality in Cameroon’s telecommunications sector, relying on increasingly robust infrastructure and well-equipped human resources to meet subscribers’ expectations.
