(LVDE) – The official commissioning of the three branches—Cornaline in Ndokoti, Amazonite at the Central Market, and Malachite at Congo Market—took place on November 20, 2025. This event reflects BGFIBank Cameroon’s commitment to expanding its network and its ambition to be the financial partner of local communities.
The Cameroonian banking landscape recently experienced a significant development with BGFIBank’s inauguration of three new branches in the economic capital, Douala. During a festive ceremony, the Managing Director of BGFIBank Cameroon, Abakal Mahamat, celebrated the opening of the Cornaline branch in Ndokoti, the Amazonite branch at the Central Market, and the Malachite branch at Congo Market. These new locations highlight the bank’s strong desire to integrate into the daily lives of the population and become the “Partner for the Future” of all economic actors, regardless of their sector.
With these new openings, BGFIBank Cameroon strengthens its footprint, now reaching 11 branches in Douala and 26 nationwide. The strategic choice of these locations is justified by their accessibility and commercial vibrancy. Each branch was designed to blend seamlessly into the local economic fabric, positioned in high-traffic areas where the need for financial support is most pressing. The Mayor of Douala’s 3rd district, Valentin Epoupa Bossambo, welcomed the initiative, describing it as important for the city’s economic development.
According to Abakal Mahamat, the opening of these branches represents not only physical expansion but also a gesture of trust toward local communities. “We want to support traders and entrepreneurs, simplify their financial lives, and contribute to their success,” he said. Each of the three new branches has been designed to provide a warm, people-centered environment where clients feel heard and supported.
