(LVDE) – The Ministry of Public Works has appointed Tropffen Engineering to carry out the detailed studies for the project aimed at improving connectivity along the Mora–Dabanga–Kousseri corridor, a 200-km stretch of road crucial for the region.
The Mora–Dabanga–Kousseri corridor is set to undergo a major transformation under the Project for Connectivity, Resilience and Inclusion Improvement (PACRI–VR). This ambitious initiative aims to upgrade 200 km of communal and regional roads, thereby improving mobility for populations in the Mayo Sava and Logone-et-Chari divisions. As part of this process, the Ministry of Public Works has recently entrusted Tropffen Engineering with the detailed design studies.
The selection of the company was conducted in accordance with current procurement regulations. The contract, worth a total of XAF 191,961,600 (tax included), is to be executed within six months. The studies will include preliminary analyses and design work to identify the project’s priority routes. These assessments are essential for establishing a road network that meets user needs and facilitates daily travel.
This initiative comes at a time when improving transport infrastructure is crucial for the region’s socioeconomic development. The upgraded roads will not only enhance mobility for local communities but also strengthen access to essential services such as education and healthcare.
The Mora–Dabanga–Kousseri Project complements ongoing efforts to improve connectivity in this part of the country. By facilitating trade and reducing travel times, the project is expected to have a positive impact on residents’ quality of life. The government’s commitment to investing in such infrastructure demonstrates its determination to promote inclusive and sustainable development across the affected regions.
