(LVDE) – On September 11, 2025, the Orange Cameroon Foundation launched the “School 4 All” initiative in Amvam-Yevol, aiming to provide nearly 8,000 students from underprivileged families with scholarships and school kits.
In the village of Amvam-Yevol, a few kilometers from Ebolowa, a festive atmosphere marked the launch of the “School 4 All” initiative by the Orange Cameroon Foundation on September 11, 2025. This annual operation was warmly welcomed by parents and beneficiaries, in the presence of local elites and administrative authorities from the South Region. The foundation invested nearly CFAF 145 million to support disadvantaged students, further strengthening its commitment to education.
This initiative, part of the strategic program “Education Plus”, seeks to guarantee access to quality education for children from disadvantaged backgrounds. The Orange Cameroon Foundation, in partnership with the Pierre-Thierry Noah Foundation, continues to play a key role in improving learning conditions for young people. The program is built around three components: improving school infrastructure, providing educational materials, and setting up mini-libraries.
The “School 4 All” caravan, which began on September 6 in Douala, aims to distribute more than 2,900 school kits across six major cities, including Douala, Ebolowa, Bamenda, Buea, and Limbe. These kits will enable students to start the school year with confidence. At the same time, 32 schools will receive libraries stocked with textbooks, reaching nearly 4,500 students in the municipalities of Ebolowa 1 and 2.
The Orange Foundation has also taken steps to improve access to clean drinking water. Three boreholes have been built in the Mbalmayo municipality, giving 750 students access to safe water. This project is part of a broader effort that also seeks to strengthen four digital schools, thereby improving the reception and enrollment of children.
For Elizabeth Mabom, Secretary General of the Orange Foundation, this initiative is a tradition that has endured for fifteen years. She emphasized the importance of supporting disadvantaged children, stating that this operation is a true demonstration of solidarity. “The well-being of our youth is a priority for us. We want to provide them with optimal learning conditions so they can succeed,” she said.
Her remarks were echoed by Ndongo Mbang Auguste-Alain, Secretary General of the Services, representing the Governor of the South Region. He recalled that education is a key lever for achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals defined by the United Nations. “Education is one of the most valuable investments a country can make in its future,” he added, while encouraging parents and young people to play their role in this dynamic.
The highlight of this 2025 edition of “School 4 All” will be the handover to local authorities of the rehabilitated infrastructure of the Garden Primary School in Limbe. This initiative seeks to provide a safe and motivating learning environment for students and teachers in the Southwest Region.
Ultimately, the Orange Cameroon Foundation’s “School 4 All” initiative represents a significant investment in the future of the country’s youth. With nearly CFAF 145 million committed and a strong determination to improve learning conditions, the foundation continues to act as a catalyst for change in the lives of disadvantaged children, while strengthening educational capacity on the ground.
