(LVDE) – A conference dedicated to women’s leadership and entrepreneurship was held on August 2, 2025, in Yaoundé, bringing together more than 250 participants and underscoring AFG Bank Cameroon’s commitment to the empowerment of women in a constantly evolving world.
In a context where women’s roles in society and business are gaining increasing importance, AFG Bank Cameroon partnered with the League for the Education of Women and Children (Lefe) to promote female leadership. This collaboration materialized in the first edition of the “Brunch & Share” event, held on August 2 in Yaoundé, aimed at bringing men and women together around a shared vision : combining economic ambition with social intelligence.
Lefe works tirelessly to give women a voice, raise awareness of their potential, and encourage them to assert themselves alongside men. On this occasion, AFG Bank Cameroon showed active support by participating in workshops and enriching discussions. The topics addressed highlighted the importance of education and financial inclusion, in line with the bank’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) policy.
The day’s program was rich in dialogue and structured around four thematic panels. The first, focused on technology and social media, explored both the opportunities and pitfalls of the digital age for young women. Experts shared practical advice on showcasing projects and creating impactful content.
The second panel highlighted women entrepreneurs who shared their experiences in starting and running businesses. Their stories illustrated the challenges and successes faced by women in business, inspiring participants to pursue their ambitions.
The third panel, entitled “Corporate Women,” addressed collaboration between men and women in the professional environment, offering strategies for women to assert themselves without compromising their career prospects.
The final panel discussed mental health and personal fulfillment, stressing the importance for women to care for their physical and mental well-being as the foundation for sustainable development.
This event was held as a prelude to African Women’s Day, celebrated on July 31, and brought together more than 250 women of all ages, from 20 to 80, and from diverse backgrounds. This diversity enriched the conversations, fostering intergenerational and intercultural exchange.
AFG Bank Cameroon strengthened its presence at the Brunch & Share event with strong visibility on communication materials. Stéphane Nana, Regional Manager for the Centre and East, took part in one of the panels, presenting the bank’s initiatives in support of women. He was joined by Ottou Tsala, Head of the Public Sector Department, along with Elisabeth Mountayi and Edel Queen Ndzelen, Managers of the Hippodrome and Mokolo branches respectively.
By supporting this event, AFG Bank Cameroon reaffirms its commitment to local initiatives that promote women’s empowerment and leadership. This initiative is part of a broader series of projects designed to support women in their personal and professional development, strengthening the bank’s role as a key partner in promoting gender equality in Cameroon. AFG Bank Cameroon continues to work towards a future where every woman can fully realize her potential in an environment where opportunities are equally accessible to all.
